I was afraid someone was going to ask that. (Didn't I mention it?)

Pretty much all the places I have seen list them for right around $1000US.

"IF" someone can provide me with the correct part numbers. I have a decent chance I might be able to get them and get them MUCH cheaper even though they are not for the JDM.

Tapage, Mickldo, anyone....? ;)

I don't know about where you are, but IIUC it is illegal to have all four light up when it's on lowbeam here.

Here in Panama we haveno issue with it .. I go for this swap :grinpimp:

I would love to have a set of these headlights for my mid-east spec cruiser. How much would it cost to get a set shipped to Kuwait, if there are any left?

I've just got the ones that I used on the installation on this thread (which I had put away after a few days).

I got them from another fellow and that made them pretty expensive to offer here.

According to this site there are about 14 PN's/variations for the European market:

http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_E_1997_TOYOTA_LAND+CRUISER_FZJ80L-GNPEKW_8101.html

The ones I have in possession have the leveling capabilities, but not sure if others are like that or not.

Why did I list the page above you ask?
Because the guy I got them from did not give me the PN for the lights. :hillbilly:

So if you feel like taking a stab at it with the PN's and give them to me, I would be more than happy to run them through Toyota and see how much I can get them for.

But I've said this before and I'll say it again, if you can get them from your local dealer by giving them the PN's you should try that route first as it would be cheaper and quicker.

And the current state of the weak US$ probably does not help the cause (Not sure how your currency is doing against the US$ or the JPY though).

Let me know what you think, I'd LOVE to help you if I can!

Will look into it! Thanks!

thanks mot will try other options!

ohh and happy holidays!;p

These motorised euro lights are, as you would imagine, std on cars over here (UK). My JDM '93 has the same lights, but without the motors (and leveler control in the cab). Until now, I'd always assumed that these were the same the world over.. apparently not !

I don't really get what advantage you think these have ?

I think it's just mainly the "grass is always greener...." thingy. :hillbilly:

They offer the H4 (low/high) and H1 highs, which probably does offer a little better brightness and bulb options, but I think it's mainly the cool factor.

Cheers mot, I think you may be right... my experience tells me they are nothing special - OK, but not at all special ;)

GOOD LUCK and please let us know what you find out!

Mot :)

I contacted the dealership! They didn't have the item but they said that if I wanted to order it or get a price quote that I should come in and request it personally! I think they just want me to go in and hear them tell me they won't get it in! They told me the same thing when I asked for R&P!

BTW, I checked out the link you gave me and actually put in the VIN# and it game me a pic of a rig that wasn't like the one I have! The pic that came out on the parts list was the one where the cruiser had 2 seperate headlight. We didn't get those here since FJ80! The FZJ80 didn't come with those head lights! I have to admit I was confused when I saw that!

Sorry for the late reply but I keep forgetting to post about it!

I went to the dealership to get a price quote on the headlights. They were very hesitant in ordering them and the quote was about $300 per headlight. This means that I would have to pay the dealership $600 PLUS S&H and give them a European VIN number for them to use to order that part cause they won't do it with my VIN number!

WOW, that sounds like it's almost as much hassle to order some foreign parts from Toyota here.

Thanks for posting!

The dealer here would not even consider ordering 4.88 R&P for the 80 series. They even said that if I did bring the gears they WILL NOT install it.

WOW! (Yeah, again! :D)

That sounds even more harsh than dealerships here!!!

Luckily there are mechanics here who specialize in Toyota repairs and they actually do a better job than the dealership! They even hook you up with authentic Toyota spare parts for a better price from their friends who work at the parts shop!

I can't complain much there but I would complain a whole lot about the traffic law in Kuwait. Officially my rig it illegal in many ways!

found these part numbers today...

the catalog says W(AUTO LEVELING)

RH
81110-60414
81110-60415

LH
81150-60234
81150-60235

Leveling Switch
84152-60020

if someone tries these out, be sure confirm part numbers here.

Thread from the dead alert!

Mot, did you bring these to the States with you? If so, have you installed/compared them with the OEM USDM lights? The adjusters on my OEM lights are seized solid so I'm looking at replacement options. If the Euro lights are better than the USDM/DOT lights with HIRs it might be worth trying to source a pair from across the pond.

Adam,

I had my folks send the quads to me, but they're still in Utah (I've been working in Vegas all month long).

I will try to pick them up and install them hopefully sometime over the holidays.
Oh, I just remembered that I have the high beams purchased from rallylights, but have not gotten the low/high beam H4's yet.

I'm talking about the quads here and not the "Euro" ones (I sold them sometime ago!).

I don't know who, but someone who had a set of the Euro ones said that the lights were not anything to write home about.

"IF" I were to do the lighting upgrade, regardless of which type of OEM lights you have now I would probably get a pair of Silvania(sp) Xenarc assists HID lights and mount then in the factory bumper where the ractangular holes are and call it good.

They're like $400 for the whole set, with true HID and wireless remote and everything.

I don't know when I will get to it, but I will let you know what I find out about the factory quads.
