I'm looking for a headlight upgrade for my 80 because the low-beams just don't put out enough light. The range of light emitted is very short. I don't need to spend a ton of money. Just looking for a decent product that puts out a decent amount of light, that won't blind oncoming traffic. I've heard good things about Diode Dynamics SL1's, but don't know if it's kosher to put them in the factory housings. I also have no clue what Diode Dynamics SL1 part number is needed for the LC 80 series.

The only 9011's I could find was in a SL2. I know so little about these, I don't even know what the difference is.

I see more “quad” headlight retrofits being done these days. They’re OEM and look great IMO. It looks like they have LED replacement lenses for them too. I wonder how the light output of those compares to an US market DEPO headlight with a D2S retrofit.

I ordered...

High Beams- Wagner 9005 BLX Extra Bright Long Life
Low Beams- Wagner 9006 BLX Extra Bright

They were $10 each, so if I'm not happy with them, I can always go a different route.

I tried a bunch of bulbs, with a slee harness.

Diode dynamics were my favorite, until I put in quads with Lasfit bulbs. Selling the Oem glass pays for a good chunk of quads and the glass is way cheaper to replace.

Good luck

Where is the best place to source a set of quads?
