If it stalls due to fuel pump issues, it will not throw a dtc/cel.
It is hard to diag a car over the net, but from what im reading, I would replace the fuel pump.
I'm taking it to a Toyota specialist this week, this seems to be pretty good advice.
So OBDII doesn't pick up the drop in pressure from a stumbling pump? Or the misfire? Or the lean mixture? Surprising considering it can pick up other seemingly benign events such as a tiny leak in the EVAP.

Earlier in this thread I speak of having similar issues. Initially I would have a stalling condition when running in hot weather. I had the fuel pump replaced summer of 2012 and this problem went away, at least for the last two summers. Additionally I had an issue where my 2006 LX would not restart for a period of time after running in hot weather. I had the cam position sensor replaced when I had the 90k service done in June of 2014 and so far I have not had the no restart issue when running in hot weather. Please do not take any of this as a guarantee that doing this will solve this problem, but it seems to have cleared up for me. It is still in the back of my mind that I may potentially still have problems down the road. It would be great for many of us if we could determine the true root cause of these two issues.
Not that it means anything but I am a senior lexus tech. Lol
My mechanic told me that the 040 fuel pump does not fit, it's connectors are different and it is a longer fuel pump. He recommended the original fuel pump which came with the LC, he said Toyota has an updated version of it.
Anyone know anything about this?
