New to me 200 here. New Toyota battery last week.
Engine quit/stalled when kicked into passing gear at about 45 mph.
Pulled off road with 4Lo light noticeably on during or immediately after the engine stalled.

Engine would then turn over strongly with all dash warning lights lighting up, but no start.

Fuel pump / fuel filter?

Thoughts?

There are threads on here about crank, no start. Here’s a recent one, but there are others.

Thanks Sandroad. Curious about the engine shut off at speed though, as well. Ended ok, but could have been much different...

I would go to basics. Got fuel, air, electric & pull codes.

I had a truck quit on my once.. just like that. Fuel gauge said 1/2 but the fuel tank was empty. Could be a fuel pump easy to check.

Filled up 4 days ago and have driven 50 miles or so. Your point is valid, tho....

Again, a bit curious that the 4Lo light was front and center when the engine stalled.....

I get that 4lo light sometimes when it is cold, then warm it up or dive 1/4 mile, turn it on and off it goes away. Likely not related.

There maybe a sensor on the OBDii that shows fuel preasure?

Use the FSM to troubleshoot systematically.

I had a somewhat similar thing happen and it was the fuel pump ecu, but I only determined that by extensive and very focused troubleshooting (with teh FSM and help from my friends here on 'mud).

I took the easy way out and took it into the shop. They diagnosed and fixed it in about 2 hrs. Will post the actual fix next week when they are open again.

That was quite an adventure.

I think I will have a summary on this "event" sometime next week......

UPDATE: (Per Mechanic):
"Labor to scan, trace circuits, replace INJ circuit fuse with specified type/rating. Cleared codes.
Note:
Confirmed crank - no start condition. Scanned for codes, found P0351 through P0358 (Ignition Coil Primary/Secondary Circuit A-H) all stored multiple times. Tested ignition coil circuits, found ground present, but no power. Traced circuit to find shared with injector power supply. Found injector power supply circuit fuse blown in under hood junction block. Found circuit is specified to have a 10 amp fuse in place, but a 5 amp was installed by PO. Replaced fuse with correct specified fuse. Vehicle started and ran fine. It is unclear if the fuse blew just because the one in place was a 5 amp, or there was another cause. At this time, we cannot find any further failure on that circuit. We do see some improper wiring repairs have been performed on two cam sensor connectors. These do not share that same circuit but will be causing problems with cam sensor readings in the near future. See below for estimate on wiring repair for these.
Note:
Bank 2 Exhaust Cam Sensor and Bank 1 VVT Cam Sensor connectors have been repaired poorly. We suggest repairing properly to avoid future drivability issues. We also found a damaged connector for the RF wheel speed connector which caused a C1405 code and a loss of communication with the RF speed sensor. Replacement harness was ordered. Replaced harness and code was rectified as well as PCS error message in cluster.
Note:
Coolant is leaking into the valley. We are proposing removal of the intake manifold in order to diagnose the source of the leak. 12/4: Removed intake plenum and found coolant leak coming from coolant crossover pipe gasket on passenger side. We propose to replace both crossover pipe gaskets. Intake vent hoses on both valve covers are cracked, so we replaced them as well."

Obviously, I should have had the vehicle checked prior to purchase.....Not my worse mistake ever, though. ;)
