Engine Identification

I have a 2UZ here that I want to verify make/model/year... is there a serial number reference somewhere?

Haven't tried it myself, but check out vindecoder.net. should be able to type in the serial number off the engine to tell you year and vehicle.

Judging by the wiring harness part number, I'd say it is from a 2003-05 LC/LX100. That is a A750F attached to it, correct? It's definitely not a VVTI motor.

Thanks hoser... do you know anything about the electronic vs cable gas pedal/throttle mechanisms? I'm told I can swap to a cable set-up to enable keeping my 40 series gas pedal? (This one has the electronic I think)

Sorry, no, I haven't tinkered with the throttle mechanism on an '03+. But I wouldn't be surprised if it is more trouble to try and bypass the drive by wire than to make it work.

I don't think I need to bypass it, rather just swap out the assembly as it bolts to the throttle body - or so I'm told.

I just checked with a friend of mine and he said the 1uz has a mechanical throttle. You may check for a junked Lexus and see if you can get that set up.

Yes the switch was around 2004/5 I believe
