would you still dolley it out or not?

The dolly experience was not a good one. The '40 weighs as much or more than the FJC....not good.

...decided mine is the radiator. The faster I go(above 55-60) the warmer it gets, so I figure at speed, the engine is generating more heat than the radiator can get rid of...

That has not been out of the question for mine. I have a new radiator sitting on the floor in the box. It came the day after I got impatient an put my junk back together with an old redone radiator which is probably a 3 core.

That being said, apparently all the 40 needed was a new windshield. Did that yesterday so I could take it around and see what's what and check the recommendations and it would not duplicate.

Poser, the volts at the battery at between 14.5 and 15.0 at idle. Seems okay right?

Water pump bearings feel fine.

I did not remove the new thermostat again since I did not have another seal.

Other than the windshield, what I did do was turn the valve off on the block on the return side of the heater. Then I parked it on a hill and ran it with the radiator cap off to see if the fluid would drop. I found a small piece (about the size of a dime) of silicone sealant floating in the new radiator fluid. Certainly would have been enough to fxxx up the thermostat and other stuff too.

Put the cap on and drove it. For a while. Nothing. The needle stayed at a third. I stopped for a while and chatted with neighbor and let the engine idle in the sun and the temp started to creep up to about half. (It is 90 right now here.) So I drove it around some more and the temp crept down. I stopped, idled, no problem. Gave it some gas at idle and no change.

Drove it back to the house, looked underneath and found an oil leak at the front of the damn oil pan - again:crybaby:

So I am guessing either it was trash screwing with the thermostat or I may have air trapped in the heater core circuit.

At any rate, the temp stayed well within limits while driving around on a 90 degree day. I need to see if I can get any air out of the heater core if that is what the problem is and address the new front oil leak, for the third time.:bang:

So thanks for the thoughts. I am keeping my fingers crossed on this.

I am certain it was the installation of the new windshield.

are you sure you did not put a sweet hood scoup on there you dont want to tell us about?
