I think a drag link socket would work for removing these but does anyone know a socket model number to buy? It seems most drag link sockets online are too big. The slot is about 14mm x 2mm.

I used a big screwdriver. BTW, those screws should be staked in place. Yours look like they are new screws that have not been staked

I did try the largest flat blade screwdriver I have with a vice grip on the shank, no dice.
 
I bet the flat blade that comes with a manual impact driver would work.
 
When you replace those, use the Torx version and stake them.

I am parting this engine out so I was pulling these for inventory. I figure there must be a guy out there doing a restoration that would want the OEM units. I believe these are NLA.
