Emergency Brake Cable R&R

I need to replace a broken cable. Would this be tricky to do myself?

Where is it broken? I have been under my truck working on mine a lot lately and it looks like it would be easy if you are talking about the cable running the length of the rear axle.

Any way to safely take up the slack here? Mine rattles like a beeyotch over small bumps.

There are two cables. One goes from the park brake lever to the rear axle and the other goes from drum to drum on the rear axle.

For the front park brake lever, you have to remove the center console and tighten the 10 mm nut. For the axle cable, you can adjust it by turning the adjuster located on the axle on driver side.

Make sure to spin rear wheels and check for proper adjustment.
