Hi guys,

This is my first post so excuse me if I don’t get the formatting right.

A few months back I purchased a 2006 LC100 series that was in great condition except replacing the shocks and engine mount.

I live in the GCC and we rarely get any rain, but couple of days ago we got hit with pretty heavy rain and it caused quite a few headaches.

I turned on the car and the instrument cluster had the gauges flickering.

A few minutes later the instrument cluster smelt burnt and I knew it was toast, I had it fixed (the main IC was burnt) today and it’s working fine.

But thats when I noticed the panel is beeping like I still have my keys in the ignition, even though I don’t. And the AC / Headlights, all still work.

The remote control doesn’t work to lock the doors don’t work (which I assume is because it thinks the key is still in ignition).

I’m working with a known garage to fix these things, but when I was getting the instrument panel fixed in a repair shop he told me to check the Fuel Pump Relay and it was a common failing point for this car.

the only other person I’ve seen across the internet is one guy named Spike555 in this same forum Link who faced the exact same issue (hvac stays on, etc) and this YouTube video about unclogging the sunroof drain Link who has the exact same water leak as mine, but unfortunately mine has some short circuit.

I know the previous owner replaced the windshield but I don’t know if that’s what causes the water leak or if it’s from the sunroof, but that’s going to be looked into later after fixing this.

Now what I need to know is if it’s recommended to should replace the entire Body ECU / fuses box as one garage recommended or is there any troubleshooting process to do so that I can tell that to the mechanic working on it tomorrow.

It’s okay if this can’t be diagnosed over the internet but I would still like to know what you guys would do if you were in this situation.

Thanks in advance!

Remove the battery terminal and remove all the fuses from fuse box under driver kick panel and then clean it with electrical spray, use copious amount of electrical spray. Test all fuses with multi meter for contiunity and put them back in the fuse box. Clean you sunroof drain gutters.

Thanks that’s what the garage is currently doing, they cleaned all the contacts using contact cleaner and the Instrument panel is currently working,

Except the fuel gage shows the tank is empty and the Voltage gauge shows it’s at 19V even after removing the battery.

They are currently resetting the security system to get the keys back working and then look into the issue.
