well , I went and did it ... I desmoged my 75' FJ40 and now I am in the hunt for the right size plug and what pitch thread to use in the egr cooler hole in my exhaust manifold. Any one know ? Other option is switching over to a header, ANy one have one they want to get rid of ? Thanks !

Most people who desmog either make little steel block off plates for the intake and exhaust manifolds or cut and fold over the egr tubes to plug them. I made block off plates and used hightemp rtv to seal them. No leaks for over 5 years.

cut the tube, crimp and braze shut.

It is one large hole and I don't think there is holes to bolt a block off plate, I would prefer to keep the tube ( incase I have to put all that crap back on.... PLEASE, I hope I never have to do that )
