Turned out pretty well.. I highly recommend the unit with RCA outputs on it to go into the converter as i'm picking up a bit of noise using high level... I'll probably have the system rewired bypassing factory amp to fix it....

Also installed these new headlamps as one of the old ones had a hole from a rock... They have a black housing and came with the clear corner.. I was a bit skeptical at first, but i'm now a fan.

Clean install

How many  job was it for the installation?

well for the eclipse install it was fairly straight forward.. I do recommend prior installation experience.. I ended up taking it to circuit city to find the Reverse and speed sense wires...(navi is inaccurate and there are no voice prompts when these wires are not connected)

They wanted $300 for the whole job.. I paid only $50 for their time for those 2 wires.

I pressure mounted the GPS antenna on the right side of the dash
The converter cost me $50 at a local shop..
Also bypassed the dvd in motion safety device (no big deal).

I'd say   .5

Currently looking for brush guards front/rear.. any recommendations on a source?

You might want to read up on "brush guards" before you purchase one. I would recomend a full bumper from personal experience! Even more so in just street driving.

More details on the lights please.

As for the head lamps.. they were purchased on EBAY when I was searching for one passenegr side lamp.. They are of lesser quality overall from OE, but they definitely have better visual appeal.. as the black housing matches the black cruiser. I will attempt to find the link I used when I purchased them (around $250 shipped for both).

Thanks for the info on the brush gaurd.. I personally like the appearance of the add on unit. I always felt the bumper replacement style looked like I was about to go on a safari.. lol

I will be seriously looking to purchase a set after I pick the vehicle up from having the timing belt done.

Here goes an ended auction for the headlamps. The seller has more.

Just remember when you hit a deer or rear end someone or something it will multiply the damages alot! The wifes front bumper on our 4runner has already paid for itself with hitting one deer. No damage @ all!

Thanks for the info on the lights. Something different for sure.

hmmm.. I can see how that can be a liability in a rear end collision. It could definitely exaggerate an already vulnerable situation.

ALSO.. to whomever tried to PM me.. I have emptied my box. Please send again.

Can you explain this?

No matter what if you rear end someone you are at fault why not limit your damage to your own car. Biggest thing for us is deer. Any SUV or truck I own from now on will have one if they are made for them.

Feel free to do what you want, I am just trying to save you from some grief when/if something ever happens to your cruiser. But then again there are always some interesting mods that go on in this forum that wouldnt in others.

Yes, I understand that when you hit someone from behind it is your fault. What i'm saying that if you were stating the vehicle causes increased damage to my vehicle and the vehicle i'm hitting then perhaps it would be advisable to have one of these installed at all.

To the headlight question.. I will get another shot of the head lamps as soon as I can.. I will add the one I displayed does not do them justice on the black paint especially..

You sure you don't live in California? ;)

Maybe you're a lawyer? :flipoff2:

The problem with the brush guards is that they fold up like a pretzel when they hit something. So if you hit a deer, the car in front of you, etc., the brush guard will fold up and take your hood, grill, lights, etc. out with it. If you replace the entire bumper with something like an ARB bumper, you'd have to have quite a collision to end up with much more than a few scratches in the paint. A brush guard probably won't cause any more damage to whatever you hit - just more damage to your vehicle. OTOH, an ARB (or similar) front replacement bumper MIGHT cause more damage to what you hit because it (the ARB bumper) is so well put together.

Just an update folks.. the navigation system is great.. One of the best things you can do to this vehicle! I highly recommend the Eclipse after a few weeks of use.. and the DVD function works flawlessly. :bounce:
