Cool.

One suggestion... I built seat brakets similar to the one you built and I find that I fight those corner posts whenever I put stuff under the seat. It would be nice if the front seats are clear all the way across and around the corners for storage below.

Maybe a tube from the front tube to the rear or something. I guess that is if you have the time to change it up a bit.

Thanks for the post and pics.

Those welds where you boxed your frame look really good.

How much stiffness do you hope to gain from your cage? I don't think you'll have any problems if you use it like most people on this board would (ie beat it to the point a heep would die!). More is always stronger, but you have dimishing returns at some point. I'd say finish what you'v started and try to keep it under about 175mph, you should be safe.
Curious by the way, what is this shop you are working in (it's tits) and what kind of buisness have you begun? Congratulations to, as hard as you maybe working and as tough as it is getting a buisness going, you are living the american dream. I wish you success.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am having fun digging into this project. The shop is owned by a guy around the corner from me who builds all sorts of fun toys. Drag cars, stock cars, trucks that are ment for serious air time at Southwick, etc. My business is high end residential construction. I am a developer and general contractor. Building trucks is way more fun though.

As for the seat bracket design, I have thought about running some spreaders and a cross bar to clear span the floor. I will probably leave it for now but will definately change it up later. I am trying to get my truck done by June so time is tight.

Keep it coming.

I am an architect working on high end out in Seattle. You are right, building trucks is WAY more fun.

I live in Avon, CT. West of Hartford by about 1/2 hour. I hoped to get more accomplished this week but I should have better luck next week.

Time to add some bling. I have a set of 37's in route and need to order the 17x9 wheels from TR. Their stock back spacing is 4.75" on that wheel. I think that 2.5 or 3 should be sufficient back spacing right?

Looks goooood, looks BBBad! keep up the good work.

4 link pics

Got the upper and lower links completed, set up the disc brakes, working on the mounts for the shocks this week. I found out that one of the rear axle shafts that came in that rear end was cut and resplined by a local shop who did a horrible job. Some splines are thick, others are thin, and some are missing all together. I think I may upgrade to a 35 spline arb in the rear and ditch the stock 30 spline shafts that came with this rear end. I will post pics of the crappy axle shaft soon.

Updated pics....

Time has been in short supply so the progress has been minimal. The sliders should be done by the end of the week so I will post up pics later.

Need Opinions

I am starting to spend some time researching transfer case options for this project. I plan to keep the TH 350 and 4:11's and am trying to narrow up the details on other potential transfer cases. What options do you guys think would work well and why.
1) I have an NP 205. Can it be beefed and gearing changed?
2) Stak 2 or 3 speed case?
3) Atlas 5.0
4) Upgraded D300?

School me on your experiences. I will start making calls this week to learn as much as possible about all of these options. Thanks guys

I am going through the same thought process right now. I think I am going to go 400-203-205 and just stretch the rear axle out untill the drive line is long enough.

Links

What size/thickness material are you using for your links?

I am running 5/8 on the uppers and 7/8 QA1's on the lowers. They should hold up to a pretty good bashing. I am going to run the JB 3:1 kit for sure. I don't have the bucks for a Stak but that is my first choice if $ were no option.
