I have the bracket that goes to that style air cleaner to bolt it to the head bolts if one does not come with the air cleaner. It's different than a 40 bracket. John
Very interested. I also found three 25 wheels, need a couple more. still on the hunt for a gas tank. thanks Mike

Is the air cleaner pictured above, as indicated by the presence of the breather tube nipple on the side, from a 40 as opposed to from a 25? Or is that exactly your point, that the bottom portion is from a 25 and the top portion is from a 40 and the 25 and 40 brackets do not interchange?

I did not even notice the breather tube, the intake opening is not belled out which would hold a hose that goes to the fender apron.
The bracket is shorter that mounts to the head. It is listed for sale in the 25 section. Hijack done.

That would be correct for a early FJ40 with a PCV on the oil fill tube. The FJ25 have a draft tube on the oil fill tube and slits on the valve cover. No hose from the air cleaner to valve cover. Could always remove the tube and fill it in as these are hard to find, even harder for the FJ25.

The intake on the apron ended mid way thru the 61 FJ40 model. My earlier 61 had it and later didn't. About 600 between two on the VINs. The air cleaner didn't bell out until the 64 model even though the apron intake was gone.

Well, as long as everyone else is hijacking this thread...Mike, I am sending the rest of your boxes out today [hitch and tire mount, FST door handles, t-shirt] I don't have any boxes big enough for the doors. They, along with settling up on shipping, will have to wait until I come back from my daughter's wedding.

I know, I know...it’s an old thread but sometimes @65swb45 will still have the part years later. Long shot, but Mark, if you’ve still got it, let me know. @pardion if you have a bracket for this air cleaner for a ’63 45 let me know.

Which bracket are you looking for Dean?

:grinpimp:

I ‘think’ the bracket on the left was/is for a firetruck F135 I would have had around 1993.

The air cleaner from this thread has long been sold. In the meantime I have been able to piece some more parts from three different sources. The lid matches, but the can is obviously a 64 or newer.

We will talk.
