if you do, you prolly want to keep the pipes 2" for back pressure.
i personaly would use the y-pipe.
you will get better flow from each exhaust pulse helping the other thru the system
other wise you need a h-pipe anyway to acomplish a good dual exhaust

how close does the "h" need to be to the headers. I was just wondering actually, sounds like it would be more trouble than its worth.

definitly more trouble.
but prolly no more than a couple feet down from the header.

for a 8 or 2F?

dual is a waste of time..

I have driven a 2F that went from a single 2.5 to a dual 2" and it actually lost power...

What else is harder core than a FJ60 forum?!?!?!?!?!?!

mace/What else is harder core than a FJ60 forum?!?!?!?!?!?!

thats right!!!!!

if you truly want duals figure out what is a comparable flow velocity between the 2.5 and something dual..

I am thinking that it will be like 1.75 or so..

I know, the is why I reccomended doing the calculations. I honestly do not know what size duals would work well.

Sorry if I sounded like I was harping on ya ;)

1.75" - 1.80" is about right.

Only took me 2.5 years....

I know you're just thinking out loud (typing out loud?), but I agree with this. Duals look cool of course, but it doesn't get you anything on a tractor engine.

Teef included..

I have most of a 60 exhaust system you can have Beaufort ;)
