from what I understnad, yes..

Never actually tried to buy one for a 60 tho.

The 5.0 would have been slightly choked down ;)

You guys are definitely over engineering the benefit or lack of it when adding dual exhaust to what amounts to a tractor engine. I had one 40 with headers and duals on the stock F motor, ran great, sounded good, same power more or less than all the others. Your choice, normally I wouldn't spend the money, but mine tend not to hang around too long. You won't notice any horsepower lack, mine actually seemed stronger in the upper end, Pretty sure the pipes were two inch.

Re: the ideal location for an H pipe.
It would be centered (1/2 on, 1/2 off) where the paint stops burning off the collectors were it correctly tuned for, and running hard with open pipes.

That is the ideal, miss it by a foot and unless the whole rest of the system has been carefully matched to the engine combo I doubt that the difference would be detectable.

snip.......
I'm not sure if it's every toyota dealer, or just this one, but you can get an exhaust for your 60 here with a lifetime warranty or guarantee or some such s***.
Lacking evidence to the contrary, it looks like the muffler on my 60 has 270,000 miles on it. I have a hard time believing that, but it is very definitely an OE part that has not been scabbed in.
