Dual exhaust installed/photos

Not of much interest to crawlers but it sure looks good to a country boy and sounds even better. There's a great shop here in Gainesville for anyone close enough. I started with a flowmaster muffler but the sound was just too much like a 16 year old in a civic. Tried the magna-flow...still too loud. Settled with a turbo muffler, it stil rumbles but is cabin quiet except on hard acceleration. The sweetest part of the whole deal was losing that Pesky spare tire:) I know I need to post the photos but haven't mastered it on this forum so give me a few...

I am guessing this is a split exhaust, ie. dual mufflers or exhaust tips, not actual dual from the headers/manifold? I think my OEM muffler will last forever, I kinda wish it wouldn't so I could justify a muffler with a bit of a "rumble" :)

I used a one in, two out muffler behind the cats. With the spare removed to be relocated elsewhere, the piping was relatively easy. The flowmaster was just too loud in the cabin.

Interesting ID ;p

Does it make it sound more like a V8 or still like a little rice burner. Im curious because i want to do something similar.

One other quick question. Will cutting out the catylic converter make the truck smell really bad or make a noise difference?

1. Starting at the muffler....you could fill a thimble with what I know about rock crawling but I think this stuff is out of the way so far....the exits pipes might hamper the departure angle? at the rear

2. Over the cross member and into the space formerly occupied by that PST...

1. There's a nice open space under the cargo area now, occupied by only pipes carrying hot gas to rear of the vehicle...

2. Not perfect, but pretty good welding on all joints

3. Reminds me of my Boss 302 with the shaker intake, but it sure doesn't sound like it. My generation tends to like multiple exhaust outlets singing in bass harmony. This is more like a tenor, but it's a Pavoriti. I'm going to tweak it a little more to see if the sound improves and will get back to you with the results.

And are those joints mandrel bent?

Joints are where the welds are, the bends are not mandrel.

Nice, but I can't help but think of the whole 5 minutes on the trail that those pipes would remain straight/intact.

Nice job! I'm thinking the same thing but two flowmasters right from the cats then the pipes out after the body lift!...
