Very very nice 40 RobJ. Could you post or forward a pic like the one in your avatar - your set up SOA, family cage and Krawlers looks alot like my current setup, sans the body damage.

Here's a few from Rubithon '08 (and a poser)

Now thats a nice FJ40. I love your rear tire carrier. I made one a while back I just don't think I am going to use it. here are a few pics., of mine. keep in mind its home made.

The cables are for a 2001 pu. you should also get the upper bolt/stud that goes into the tub. I reinforced the tub w/ flat plate behind the stud and also welded a nut to it to thread the stud into. Placement of the stud is obviously critical so that your tailgate will sit flat when open.

Get the lower bolt (tail gate) also, it is a special shoulder bolt that will let the cables swivel and fold.

Thanks for the pics Robj - very nice ride.

Guess with chains you end up with a piece of rubber hose/tubing over the chain to control rattle.

Nice part about those Chevy pieces is that you have the option of using those quick disconnect attachments.

Thanks man - did you fab the piece that bolts to the tailgate as well or is that stock?

#53 and #54? Specter had them recently. I see that they don't have the left latch now. Check with CDan. You can also check with cruiserparts.net for used.

The hooks (#54) suck anyway, and wont fit the existing bolt holes on a non-soft-top truck. Make your own, better hooks, using 2x2 angle. Check out post #7.
