any progress?
The proto type is built and it works. The next step is refining it, sourcing production bolts, bearings etc.
Because of the Australian company's interest, I'm not quite ready to post pictures.
Thanks for being patient!
Very very impressive build. You've got skills, 'copy' or not.
Drop Down Slide update
I know it has been a while since I have posted about the slide.
I have been working steadily on the slide since the beginning of the year. After four complete renditions, I think I have a viable working slide.
Over the President’s Day holiday I took the Drop Down Slide on a four day Mohave Trail real world shakedown run. Well, the slide did very well and was well received by my fellow club members who joined us on the trail.
My next step in the process is meeting with local parts suppliers to replace the homemade parts with production parts. This will make the slide bullet proof and easier to produce.
I will be showing off the slide at my next SoCal Land Cruiser Club meeting and if any LA/Orange County area guys want to see the slide in person and report back, let me know and I’ll give you our meeting info.
Excuse my ignorance...but from the photo it appears your "new" design is the same as your first model?
at what height will these things need to be mounted? I was thinking of ordering the AT version "A" drawers which are 8.75".
We really need you to start selling these and stop teasing us!
I'm a buyer. How much and WHEN?
Jon
Good to see you got it all sorted. Hope you sell heaps
I'll take one of the unpainted original prototypes that are laying around...I have cash and I'm down in your area tomorrow...
