I would be very interested in making my own if you ever took the time to produce drawings. Nicely done.

Making accurate drawings is not a trivial thing. Perhaps we can entice him to make some drawings for a little bit of $$ donation for his time? :hhmm: If he doesn't know CAD, I can do that if needed.

I would donate $$ if he was interested in doing drawings. I also have acess to CAD systems and can offer my drawing services if he can sketch it out.

Thank you for the offer!! I do have access to a CAD program.

The drop down fridge slide I made for myself comes from a patented Australian design. I'm currently working on a new design that does not infringe on the Australian patent.

I’ll keep you all posted.

Patented Product

Dear Sir

I remember our discussion on email regarding freight to the US for our innovative new product the Drop Slide by Platinum Premium Products.

We will very soon be selling this item through a US Distributor.

I would like to remind you that this product is going through the Patent process for Worldwide Coverage.

You will be receiving an initial letter of notice from our Patent Attorney shortly outlining the implications of Patent Infringements.

I understand your frustration having been unable to justify the cost of freight to the US but this is about to change very soon.

As you seem like a very helpful guy who just wants to let people know about our fantastic product, it might be a better idea to list our email address of sales@platinumgear.com.au or our website www.platinumgear.com.au so that we might pass on information of availability as it comes to hand.

Please feel free to contact us at any time for more information.

Cheers ;)

Dear Sir:

There is no need to throw the Lawyer Card on anybody discussing your fine product. This is not a good way to introduce your company to a new market of potential buyers.

Please read a few posts above this one and you will find no one wants to infringe on your patent. Actually, pains have been taken not to give away anything not already found on the internet.

As for being a "very helpful guy", you should be thanking me for opening your eyes to a very large market instead of insulting me.

Will there be competition? Time will tell. Of course, without infringing on your patent.

Cheers ;)

Hawkeye,

Thanks for the backup! If this company had been a bit less of a country bumpkin a year ago when I inquired about bringing the slide to the US market; he would not be worrying about competition today.

He insults us and now he wants to sell to us?!

I’m working on being his competition.

Gotta love it

Ive been watching this with interest as per our conversation TLC.
Has anyone seen the patent application or is platinum gear willing to post up the application details,i did a quick search but couldn't find any info on a drop down fridge slide patent application.
I'd say there is one but if not they would'nt be the first guys to use those words just to scare off competion.

They have one. It is Australian public info. They are legit. I have a copy of their patent; it is very detailed.

Are they trying to scare away competition? Probably!

They have a good product; you just can’t buy it in the US. And when they figure out how to get it here, a little competition will keep the prices reasonable.

Oh ok.
Now you just have to come up with a design that doesn't infringe.

LMFAO..Jerry-Jerry-Jerry, and yes, pun intended. As said, way to impress the community here, and all the other TLCA members like us here that will now be keeping that in mind.

I would sincerely hope that either the person posting this is posing and this is indeed not the attitude they wish to convey, or that the person gets fired.

He was doing you a favor, and I for one was about to have a friend in Sydney ship me one. Guess I'll have to also not infringe on things and just fab something myself or support someone who was trying to help the community here instead... because I know his gravitational resistance elevation-shifting rail system will work better. ;)

Ya asshat!

Jerry, keep my info handy please.

Iam really surprised that Slee off road never sold something like this. Maybe Christo did at one point? I have a Engel Fridge Slide from Christo, but your drop down would be great to have!

As you say very surprising no one has started importing them to the US. There is a company sellng them in the UK. From memory it's Boab 4wd. I was under the impression that Platinumgear are an importer of the product not the manufacturer.
"I would like to remind you that this product is going through the Patent process for Worldwide Coverage" Does this mean that at the present there is no coverage of the Aus Patent in the US??

As allready bsaid not a good way to introduce themselves into a potentialally large market
