center differential lock instead of the flasher lights button. no light came on and i wasnt sure if it is pressed.
after an hour or so driving, vsc track light came on, pulled over and searched here and i checked the driver side CV boot squirted some grease but not the passenger side. cleaned it off and shut the engine, started it again and lights are gone.

am i in trouble?
if not, should i add some grease into CV boot?
what else should i check?

Been there, done that, no problems here.....but I don't like it. I keep brainstormin about how to create a CDL panic shield over the.

Don't worry about it. You can drive with the CDL on at any speed for as long as you want.
You just can't turn tight corners on dry roads with it locked. And being electrically operated if it was bad for it they'd have engendered in a safety of some kind so you don't grenade the t-case.

I drove over 200 miles in a blizzard at speeds up to 70mph in my Land Rover with the CDL locked. Zero problems.

oh what a relief thanks guys.

still, do i need to add grease in the boot? or not needed

If your CV is throwing grease you need to find out why, broken/loose retainer band, ripped boot.
Get the front end off the ground, unlock the steering wheel, turn the suspected wheel all the way out so you have the best access to the CV, clean with brake clean, rotate tire with your hand and look for a crack in the boot, make sure retaining rings are tight.
If the boot is cracked or retaining rings loose/broken it can be fixed.
Putting more grease in is not possible without removing the boot. If it's cracked and throwing grease adding more grease won't matter, it'll all come out.

there is no rip or tear in the boot, i dont even know where came from but looks like from the seal. will check and report back.

Same thing happened to mine after I lifted the front. No tears but about a gallon of grease came out of the inner clamps. Ordered up and installed OEM Boot Kits with new grease and @pfran42 clamps. Solved that little issue quickly! I highly recommend those clamps.

And FWIW, I accidentally drove about 20 miles yesterday after wheeling with the CDL on, didn't realize it until I pulled into a gas station and the drivetrain was binding. IMO, the tires will lose traction long before any mech failure, so I believe you have nothing to worry about!
