Hey, shoutout to this thread and @amaurer - I've just about wrapped up my project turbo install my our BJ70 using this method, box tube manifold, Volvo turbo & VW intercooler... So far so good!

Haha - want to know the real story? The box tube was a chunk I pulled from my scrap pile, and one end was already cut at an angle.... Being lazy, I just matched the other end to the same angle ;cDDude, awesome. I see you didn't angle the ends of the box tube in as severely as I did, nice work.

Sorry if i missed it but what type of hose did you use from the air cleaner to turbo? Also where did you find it?

I found this one might do the job. Not sure how well it will reduce down to 2.25" to fit the turbo
Would be curious to try my log one built out of T joints...Thanks I’m pretty happy with it. One day I would like to make a divided manifold but some how also keep it small and tight to the motor.
While clearing shavings from my stock NA manifold seen here with my log manifold plate bolted to it I noticed shavings being sucked in through in port 2 with air applied to port 1. Impressive for a simple stock manifold. View attachment 3841493

A while back I read four-cylinder engines with firing order 1-3-4-2: (Toyota B series)
Will have cylinder 1 ending its expansion stroke and opening its exhaust valve while cylinder 2 still has its exhaust valve open and vice versa.
In an undivided exhaust manifold, this pressure pulse from cylinder exhaust blowdown event is much more likely to contaminate the paired cylinder with high pressure exhaust gas. this hurts the other cylinders ability to breathe properly and obviously efficiency.
Here’s my new undivided log manifold unfortunately not breathing as cleanly.
