No one is making anything up, it's been done multiple times as retrofit and Toyota literally built it that way on all 105's.
Now whether it is a actual worthwhile upgrade or not is a different discussion

You missed the point, is this your dream axle?

So are we just making s*** up now for the fun of it because I dont see how some hybrid 32 spline from a 100 is anyones "Dream Axle"

Idk who’s dream axle has an 8” in it but ya know… here we are. Im sure they exist though.

Is it worth it to do it? Idk probably not, but swapping out spider gears and throwing in bigger shafts is fun I guess. The jk Dana 44 35 spline spider gears for an arb also fit in a 9.5” ARB….

Read what the OP posted. I gave my input. We can axle swap literally anything into an 80 and theory craft how to fit a Dana 30 in it but who cares about a Dana 30.

There’s a difference in what can be done vs what someone’s wants done.

If someone wants a 32spline 100 axle in their 80 then more power to them but I just asked for some simple clarity if that is what they actually want.

Ok I guess my dream is to put spider gears from a 100 series 9.5” arb into my 80 series 9.5” arb and run 32 spline shafts from branik 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think that would be a fun project and stand corrected.

I person would just have to make sure the 32 spline shafts have enough clearance on the FJ80 spindles. Do the 100 series hubs have the same bolt pattern to the axle flange? or drive flange and custom shafts? I'm guessing someone already knows the answer to these questions.

DANA 60 and be done....everything else is just 1/2 ton stuff.
I was wondering how long it would take... :worms:

Then again, I've been told (by the late Tools R Us, no less) that the axle is called a 60 because it'll hit the rocks 60% of the time. :hillbilly:
From my experience with my K5, I'll have to admit Kevin wasn't all wrong on that assessment. Anyone else's results may vary... :)

I could have built two one ton axles for what this Toyota one cost. But everyone said you can't run hard buggy stuff on Yota axles. Sadly the 9.5 diff wont fit into the frt of a 80 without some mods.. Ran this axle for 4 years and beat it like it owed me money.Only broke it once after I got rid of all the nitro crap. 92 semi float8 8x rear housing . Chrome moly 80 balls hellfire hubs chrome moly drive flanges revolution cyro treated 529s and cyro treated install kits. modifed 12 bolt full spool rcv 300ms custom made truss..

You know your buggy weighs half what a loaded 80 weighs! lol.... Horsepower, sticky 40's and watch that Toyota blow apart. I have wheeled Toyota stuff in the past. I went to a HP60 and 35 spline 300m RCV's and never looked back. Horsepower will kill Toyota stuff.

WOW I never realized my buggy weighted 1/2 as much. Just wow. I'm so dumb !!!! Guess I should have paid more attention to the scales when I set up the suspension . Id say poor driving skills kills more axles than horse power. Ive watched so many guys destroy 60s trying to run my lines. To be honest it was a one time thing cost way too much to build that axle. Next one will have spidertrax hi pin 9s .

The comment was all in jest... nothing more... I run a 60 in my Ultra4 car. It is a race car, not a crawler. We are in whole different worlds when it come to that. I have slow wheelers as well but they have small tires on them. I run a 40 series front axle with RCV's and 33's if that says anything.

All good man. I will look you up at SAS this summer, we can laugh at all this over beers:beer:

All Is good I was being a sarcastic a$$hat haha. My humor is very dry . At least you didn't try to tell me a HP 8 is stronger than a 9.5. I was pushing a whole 109 hp in the buggy . I can't afford 500hp issues with the kind of torques we run. I had a 292 to 1 final drive in ubber low. That kind of made up for the weight difference plus we bind up s*** all the time and crawl out. it's hard on the axles. I broke so many RCVS They sent me 300ms when they came out just to make me stop calling . The 300ms are awesome Broke one axle it 2 years and that was due to driver error.

I'm easy to find at SAS haha unless its past 9 pm then im asleep. No beers for me ! I'm allergic to it.. every time I drink one my wrists break out in handcuffs hahaha. I lead Poughkeepsie Gluch every year Prob do it Thurs this year sounds like you will fit in with our crew.
