instead of using the drain plug I used the large lower court hose to drain the fluid. I assumed that this would be a low enough of a point on the engine that it would fully drain but when I remove a freeze plug it was full well above the freeze plugs in Augusta all over the place. it looks like a previous mechanic slam some group in the dream and I'm afraid to remove it for fear that it was actually break. is there another location where I can drain it from on a hose rather than from the radiator . is it possible something's blocking the flow ?

sorry I just proof read that I'm using auto correct on my phone I hope it makes sense

this maybe a dumb question but is it always necessary to drain from the radiator and the block,.

theres a block drain in the motor
Jack the front left wheel off the ground (using the frame, not the axle), remove the plastic liner piece to the rear of the shock, and use a really long set of extensions to get to the plug. Easy easy. But messy. I always drain both the radiator and the block. You won't get all the old glop out otherwise.

Here's a couple of photos showing the block drain and one way to approach it:

Thanks.. found it.. I do not have that cool drain on mine... I would not mind throwing one on there if anyone knows where to get one.

I'm not sure what socket type that is in the pic, but I don't believe there is a quick drain installed.

It is just a tapered pipe plug, so you should be able to find a universal QD if you really want one

OTH you can't reach it with your hand (at least you can't from the side of the truck), so why not keep the plug? It is dead easy to reinstall by putting it in the socket and then turning the extensions by hand.
