Fired it up & got it outside for the first time in 4 months.

I warmed it all up & took it for a spin up the road. Everything went well so I turned around & headed back to the shed to put the front end on.
With that done I hit the road for a longer test. Headed out of town for about 15k's then turned around & headed for home. Got back into town & my feeling of :bounce: turned to :frown:. The transmission began to slip while trying to change up. Got back to the shed & made sure I'd done everything right, oil was level was all good, no leaks. So I called the guy that built the transmission & long story short I have to pull the oil pan off. Wheres a match.

Been a while since I updated "cause I've been flatout with work.
The tranny is all sorted now, turned out to be a throttle valve problem. I still have to shorten the front shaft & lengthen the rear one but for the time being I have been able to drive it at least. I am trying to get it all sorted because our 4wd club is having our annual comp in a few weeks & I want it all done so I can take part, but I don't like my chances.

Glad to hear you got the trans. sorted out ! I 've been wondering how that Cool truck was coming along !!

Thanks mate. Things have been pretty slow because of work but it's one of those necessary evils that we can't do without hey. I'm also looking at redoing the roll cage too at the moment because the kids don't have anything to protect them in the back at the moment, so it is another thing added to the list of future mods. Man that list is just getting longer.

I know what you mean about the list, man !!The extended roll cage for the little ones is on mine as well. I also just picked up a TBI system, planning on starting that install after "Cruisin the Woods" in Oregon in two weeks. Hope your annual comp goes well, Croozy !

I got hold of a towbar from a mob in VIC through work & fitted it yesterday.
Had a tow bar before but I wanted a Reese stye hitch. I could've made it my self I
suppose but I wanted something that was tow rated for insurance reasons.

Then today I went & bought one of these.

I then I made up a frame to bolt it to & fitted it to my spare wheel carrier.
I also got a new number plate holder through work & fitted it to the jerry can holder.
This is the results.

Haven't been on here for a while, but here's an update anyway.
I made some half doors out of a pair of doors got off a mate, after he rolled his 45.

Here is a couple of pics of the doors when I had finished painting them.

Today I fitted them to the shorty & started making the frames for the soft door tops that I'm making.

Well got the huggers fitted today & the front half of the exhaust changed over.
Will get around to doing the rear section when I have more time.

I rerouted the plug leads to above the headers & took it home to bolt the inner guards back on.

Haven't posted here for a while, but over the new year weekend we went camping. The temp on NYD was 48 degrees & in the campers it was 57. Then everything was the opposite for the next couple of day. This is the only pic I took all weekend because I was too busy swimming in the river & drinking beer. It was taken on the way home.

Had this last week off & after I got all the stuff I needed to get done around the house sorted, I thought I'd start making the frame to suit the Rola rack that I got from work last year. A mate had a heap of tubing at his place & said I could use what I wanted. So I shot of to his joint after lunch yesty & we got a start on it. Would've had it finished today but got called into work (so much for having time off). Will have it all done & back on tomorrow.
Here is some of the pics that I took.

Working out where I wanted it to go.

Rear mounting bracket. On the passenger side I used the top spare tyre mount holes & the duplicated that on the driver side.

Thanks guys. The rack is something I've been meaning t do for a while now & I'm happy with how it turned out. No more carrying stuff inside now when the whole family goes away.
