Read a thread awhile back on how to refelt the windows on the cruiser. I ordered the parts from JC Whittney and they look killer! I can't wait til the windows don't rattle when I close the door. For size and shape the seem to be perfect, but does anyone have any hints on how to get them to secure to the door:hhmm:? I have some pics to show what I mean. There aren't any holes through which to put a connector.

Some folks have punched their own holes to mount them. Others have glued them to the doors (which is what I did). Living in Oregon I will say I was curious how well the glue would hold up, but thus far after a nasty-wet winter, all good so far!

How did you slide the clips in? Did you cut the felt and come in through the front? The idea of glueing these in does not make me happy, but at the same time I can't see how to get the little clips in from the front without them being visible. Did you cut the felt in front?

Yes, I put a small.slit.in.the felt to get the clip in. the backing under thr felt was lightly tacky, so the felt stuck back down pretty well

Saved this thread. Like Pablo I need to get the material and do it.

I did the wipers on the outside for mine. In my opinion the felt would let too much water straight through. Granted I cleaned the insides of the doors out so the drains in the bottoms are all open but I prefer to try and keep as much water out as possible in the first place. I also think it has a very nice "finished" look to it.

On an off note, I also used the wipers to repair my rear door fixed windows. The sides and top of the weatherstripping was in good shape but the bottom section was completely rotted. Long story short, I cut the bottom section off, shimmed the window so it would stay up in place, and then cut several sections of the wiper stripping to fit in place. After everything was fitted I came back with clear silicone, ran a bead, and set everything in place. Turned out very nice and it matches the wipers on the outside of the glass.

The 75000147 number is what I used about a year ago when I ordered my weatherstripping. You can't count on JC Whitney for much of anything. The part number crosses back to a company called Stanpro. I never heard of them before. Anyway, if you go to stanpro.com and type in the above part number a drawing with the dimensions will pop up. Should help finding something else at JC or you could call Stanpro and see if they have a distributor who will sell to you. Just a suggestion.

Bumping this up as I need to do it.

Thinking about doing wipers on the outside and felts on the inside.

Thoughts? Experiences to share?

It looks like the JC Whitney p/n 1JA 819752 worked for the outer - p/n = 4' length

I was hoping we could get some pictures here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-iron-...ow-felt-source-digging-but-not-finding-3.html
but the thread is now closed.

Looks like that outer JCW p/n still works: http://www.jcwhitney.com/style-38-4.../p3039068.jcwx?skuId=225818&&mc=1&filterid=u0
