Recently got my FJ40 put back together after some work, and last night I went to shut and lock the driver's side door. It didn't quite work like normal, but figured that was part of the adjustment period. Well, now I can't open my door. It won't unlock and I can't get the door open to adjust anything. I pulled the panel off on the inside, but can't figure out what has to move to get it to unlatch.

It helps to know what you are working with. Go to an online vendor that has pic of the guts. This for example is the 76 doors/top on my 72. Door - Front 1975-1984 40 45 & 47 Series (Page 126) - Specter Off-Road - https://www.sor.com/cat/126 Other places likely have better pic and there could be youtube vids for the issue.
Take the window crank and panels off. You can reach in and pull/push the rods with like a needle nose pliers on the inside latch labeled as door regulator. One is the lock mechanism the other is the opening the door release.
