There’s no hierarchy for Land Cruisers, just different options under the Land Cruiser umbrella depending on what fits your life best. Missing one of the three in the States doesn’t create a hierarchy, it just means one of them isn't available here. Hopefully they bring the 70 Series to the States. I’m not here for the pissing contest but rather to inspire others to end the divisive/superiority complex mentality. One for ALL and ALL for One. 🍻

Nightlight, you can't have it both ways. You can't act like you're taking the high ground and want everyone to get along after relentlessly trolling the sh*t out of anyone who had valid criticisms of the 250. A simple review of your posts reveals your harassment of members in both in the 200 forum and the 250 forum. "muh real landcruiser, muh real landcruiser..."

Tundra is competing in the half-ton space. What's important in that world is are the numbers. With the 10.5 Toyota was able to achieve this goal. The Tundra also has a 145" wheelbase making it more stable for towing than the 112" wagon. I'm guessing this contributes to the increased rating.

Regardless, your argument that the Sequoia is at the top of the stack is without merit. IRS, no center diff, no KDSS, no tailgate, lower quality trim, no rear cabin hvac coil, nowhere near the aftermarket support, etc. It's an absurd statement to make.

You're mixing and matching concepts. I think maybe you haven't looked at the new Sequoia. It's a 10.5" solid rear axle, 9,500lb tow rating, 437hp hybrid, SUV. It's just a tundra hybrid with extra seats and a really terrible cargo area configuration.

In terms of a hierarchy are we talking about build strength or feature set?

The 250 has eKDSS, higher tow rating than any LC model [ever], 9.5 rear axle, awd.

The Sequoia has heavier powertrain, larger size, more power, and higher tow rating than all of the others.

The LC300 variants have the highest level of interior trim luxury features.

EDIT: Also - fwiw, the Sequoias have had a rear hvac core in every generation.

It's true, I mocked those claiming to own 'The REAL Land Cruiser' because that mindset deserved to be challenged. Standing up to those who distort the truth isn't trolling. it's slaying the trolls. It's holding people accountable. There's nothing wrong with pushing back when someone tries to rewrite facts. And the fact is, they're all real Land Cruisers. And there’s no hierarchy just a choice designed to suit different needs. It’s not about better or worse it’s about what fits you best. Nuff said'

Stating opinions or preferences is not re-writing the facts; we should respect each others opinions. No one was trying to alter posted specs.

It's rude to "yuck" another's "yums." You aren't slaying trolls, you are gatekeeping.

Just standing up against misinformation. If you want a Land Cruiser there are choices on the table that best suit your life and ALL of those choices lead to a real Land Cruiser, regardless of which one you choose. None is better than the other. The best one is different for everyone it depends on your specific needs.

Your image was @bjowett's from from a 2008 Tundra. This is was the basis of my reply. The 2G Seq is all of those attributes I described.

If we're talking the 2023+ Sequoia then that's much closer to a 300 but still not there. As I've said previously, build a Trailhunter Sequoia similar to what was done with the 700 and I'd be interested. The lack of tailgate is a bummer, and the trail presence is a bit large, but if you added a few Land Cruiser bits the Sequoia could be a close US surrogate for the 300. The Sequoia competes with the Tahoe/Yukon segment while trying to play in the overland scene with the use of a solid rear. They would have had more Sequoia sales had they kept it IRS to keep the ride quality for the soccer crowd. My guess is TNGA-F didn't lend itself to IRS so the only way to have a full size SUV was to go solid.

We have our 24 Trd Pro 4runner, and my 2016 200..
My wife and I looked at the 250 and gx550 the other day and the OP's review was really spot on..

The gx was pretty dang nice, but not for the 90k+ used price tag. I'd buy another used 200 (Heritage) all day every day...

The 250 we were really disappointed in. We had hoped it would be kinda cool but we walked away and couldn't believe how unimpressed we were. With the hybrid 4 alone I'd never be interested but I had hoped it would be kind of a neat truck. Not the case for us.

Beyond happy with our 200, after coming from a built 100 series. It's literally perfect.

All that to say I think it's great the guys who have them and like them, it just confirmed the prado is not for us. It felt like Mr T dropped the ball on that one
We are almost on the same boat. When I went for an oil and filter change on my 200, I felt exactly the same when seating in a Prado in the showroom. I will go even further and say that my wife's 24 runner PRO felt better built than that Prado. On the GX, I would also 100 times buy a lightly used grocery getter 200HE (for less money) than the overpriced marked-up GXs out there. Well, that is what I actually did. There is absolutely not car out there that holds a candle to a 200HE with low miles. A quick visit to BAT will show you for how much these are going for the IYKYK crowd.

This is true.

Not true. Peoples likes, dislikes, preferences are not false information. You can call it "malinformation;" you don't like it and view it as harmful, but it is not false.

That’s only the case if they’re unbiased. Spending $60k and agreeing that it’s a lesser choice is a hard pill.

You see similar with tire threads. The new rubber is always claimed to be superior regardless of what the real performance is.

Ahhh....now I get it...you are part of the "everyone gets a medal for participation" crowd. Sorry...it doesn't work like that in the real world.

Couldn't agree more. Our trd pro 4R has 5k miles and we really love it. Definitely would get another over a 250, and by a long shot..

Having our newer 200 to compliment the 4R is the perfect combo (for us)

If I answer that, I’ll just sound like a broken record. Let’s focus on what’s factual the LC250 is 100% positioned in the middle of the lineup, whether you like it or not. 🍻 Source -> Toyota Launches All-New Land Cruiser "250" Series in Japan | Toyota | Global Newsroom | Toyota Motor Corporation Official Global Website - https://global.toyota/en/newsroom/toyota/40658942.html
First time seeing marketing materials? It's "positioned" in that graphic in a way that will drive sales. It has zero to do with reality.

You bought the kool aid hook, line & sinker, and are visibly coping.

What's interesting is in our area there are a TON of barely used 250's already for sale...

I won't make assumptions as to why, it's just interesting.
