Don't buy these aftermarket mirrors (a quick heads up)

So I took a chance and bought some aftermarket troopy side mirrors off Amazon. The originals cost around $85 each and these were just under $90 for two. They were available in the U.S. so I was theoretically going to save some money on shipping.

The finish on the backside of the mirrors is cheap looking, but compromises to save money are part of the deal, I get it. Unfortunately, once you hit about 70 or 80 kmph the mirrors collapse downward, unable to resist those hurricane force winds.

Just a heads up, avoid whatever weird Chinese pile that is that company. Cheers.

I would put a review on Amazon. Shut it down from the source.

I bought similar ones off ebay for my BJ. Worst purchase I ever made for the thing. The glass (plastic) was like that of a kids toy.

done and done. the company just contacted me that it's an easy fix... just tighten the screws. um, yeah... two screws that attach the mirror to the vehicle, plenty tight. the problem is the mirror angle adjustment hinge (no screw there). made out of silly putty.

yup, super light and cheap plastic. which i wouldn't mind too much (get what you pay for) if the thing just functioned properly.

If the mirrors are similar to OEM, there may be an adjustment under the plastic "elbow".

I have to tighten my original mirrors occasionaly. They do get loose and will move at highway speeds.

 shiit which ones did i order now.....

very good advice, thanks. i got in there and tightened up the joint a bit. made a little difference. i also took a look at the inside of the original mirrors, and wow, what a difference. the original mirrors make the knock offs look like kids' toys. i decided to just get the real ones so as not to worry about the flimsy ones loosening up or wearing out, which the way they're built looks more than likely.

Well, I broke the driver's side mirror. Bought a pair from Proffitt's Cruisers.

Yes, they are plastic and happened to be the same manufacturer as the driver's side mirror, Keymirror, made in Taiwan.

Passengers side is the original Toyota mirror.

They are $60 per pair but I see they are now out of stock.

I mounted them on the door, adjusted the position, took them off and tightened them (philips and 10 mm wrench).

Re-mounted and they feel tight.

I'll update after I take the LJ77 on the highway.

just got my chyna mirrors..... Kingmirror 😆 Yaa right
They are the bigger newer style but cheap as fuuk for sure,
but honestly the oem 1986 70series mirrors totally blow too, break easy at the first tree branch they see and seize up but somehow still move with wind?!
So these cant be much worse as they have a bigger mirror and a two point articulation joint which *should* be better.
We shall see, good ol'Murphy will probably make me eat my words now....

yup, that's what i got, the kings! you might have to remove that little plastic cover on the elbow to tighten a phillips head screw so they don't flop down. good luck!

These mirrors are barely a 2/10

I recently ordered 8794090K00 and 8791090K0 from Partsouq for about $35 each and they're great (so far). They are shorter than the ones you're showing but they work just fine.
that's a good option. i saw those, too, but i really like the tall mirrors. i'm picky that way : )

i have since demoted my opinion of KINGmirror to 1/10
They ARE mirrors, but just barely

I'm sure they will, but any idea if they'll work on a '94 Troopy?
