If you change color you need to paint it all, including inside the hood, doors, floors etc etc. That said I repainted my hazy, clearcoat-peeling silver 60 in a single stage fleet grey color that is close enough to the silver that I think it is ok that I DIDN'T paint all of those things... AND I'm not looking for a show truck, I just needed it to not look TOTALLY like crap.
Are you paying for it or painting it yourself? (I did mine myself at a local tech/trade school evening class: instructor, paint booth etc...). Prep is EVERYTHING... Mirrors are on for the drive home after paint, I drove it like this with no turn signals, wipers, door handles, locks etc back and forth to the shop (10 miles) a few times!

Oh, and metallic is harder to paint than solid if you want it perfect, and single stage is easier to touch up later (I WILL do some trail damage before long) ... thus my fleet single stage.

^^ Metallics are tricky... Tiger striping is a widely known flaw.. I've painted many vehicles with cheap and expensive metallics... Like Mark said.. PREP IS EVERYTHING! If the prep is bad or mediocre... so will the final product.

ANVIL!!!!! Yes stock is great but that color and finish is so badass it belongs on a 60.

Look past the Jeep (although in the grand scheme of things, Jeeps are pretty cool compared to what anyone else is making these days)

Trust your gut, you know you want it this color.

Paint the damn door jambs! If you want it, do it :)

@woytovich - thanks for the tips/experience. It's a 'trade for services' I made with a friend of mine that owns a body shop.

Jason-

Yes, prep is everything and I have 100% faith in my friend's work; it's the only shop I trust to touch any of our cars; did my previous STi bodywork and paint....got 2nd at world of wheels in my class =)

ps - sent you a message

Decided to go with. . .Anvil. Since it's a trade, will have to wait until shop is slow. . .but maybe as early as late December/early January. Woo hop. Will either Love it or Hate it, eh?

I'll stop by the Toyota dealership to see if they have one on the lot - can't make any promises but if I change, I'll send you a t-shirt that reads, "The Force is strong in this one". Hehe.

Don't forget to look at the Scion tCs. I think they used the same color. I'm very curious to see what a 60 looks like in Anvil, though. You're the second or third person I've heard talk about it.

Cement is nice. Have your friend spray a card with the black level increased too...then you have a truly custom color...and the non-metallic is always easier for touch ups.

Is this for a wheeling truck that is likely to get scratched and dinged...?

I do like the idea of staying with a Toyota color if you can do so...

I live in New Orleans and unfortunately, not much wheeling around here. She's going to be more of an asphalt queen. We head out to the 'woods' 4-5/year but nothing more than gravel/fire roads. The 60's biggest threat will be the local drivers - who seem to have had lobotomies, hehe.
