I was going to post on my build thread today about a waterfall trip to east Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama, and then the local rescue I volunteer at called me for an emergency.
66 dogs in a bad situation. Of course I cancelled plans and went.

We're talking sociopathic monsters here. They took donations for their "rescue" then used the money for personal stuff and the dog food went to their puppy mill. I'm almost ready to do violence.

I can't say at this time. Some time on Monday I will probably be clear to name and shame.
In the meantime, if you know any rescues, fosters adopters who will take a dog(s), I will transport within reason from Tennessee

We found homes for 6 dogs today. A wealthy older woman with a 60,000 foot playhouse for her pets took all 6 of the worst cases, including Scooby, the starved one pictured above.
I would sell my house and live in her dog house right now, if given the opportunity. Meet Jessie Belle, who I transported to her new heaven on earth.
This morning she was living in her own filth on a concrete pad open to the weather, and tonight she's sleeping in an apartment of her own on a cushy bed.
BTW, I had to resize her collar to a ridiculous small size to make it fit. And then cried for a bit. This good girl deserved better.

Today I was transporting more neglected dogs when one kind of stuck to me and my wife.
Meet Maxie, who is about Charley's twin, but female.
She is a sweetheart, but utterly parasite ridden. Smelled BAD, but is an angel of a blue staffy.
During her bath, we discovered another kind of parasite, totally unexpected.
Well, crap. How did I miss that?

Kudos for helping. My two pups were strays right of the streets. They are the best dogs a man could ask for and I will never pay for a designer or purposely bred dog in my life, mutts and rescues are the only way to go! I hope you can find the right homes for the dogs.
Took Maxie to the vet yesterday, and discovered she was in the middle of a hysterical pregnancy.
For whatever reason , her brain was telling her body it had puppies inside, but it did not.
Thank God. The world doesn't need more puppies and I didn't really want to kill them. Did a little snip snip and the possibly of puppies is no longer.

Glad it worked out that way and no decisions like that had to be made.

Doesn’t read post longer than two paragraphs.
We feed Bruno half raw so we are always looking for deals, a friend had left over elk scraps. Bruno enjoyed the bones after I cleaned them up.
And my 2 are happy with 1 kg of beef bone to hook into. They got some around Christmas and there are still some bits hanging around stewing in the summer sun...
Introductions are starting. Baby steps.
