why?
i have a hard time imagining pitting 2 dogs in a ring for the sake of entertainment and profit.
am i the only one that finds this very disturbing??

Yes, it is disturbing...You are human.

To me, it's personally disturbing, especially how these dogs are 'trained'. OTOH, bullfighting is considered a sport? I have issues with that, too.

What? You disagree with Jamie Fox who came to the defense of Vick saying "It's a cultural thing"?

Hold on.
Another thread.

Texas just made going to a dog fight a class A misdemeanor up from a class C. A few someones in the Texas legislature agree with you.

so,
if i make it a "cultural thing" to slaughter those that attend the dog fights then i am justified in what i feel is right?

sad so sad.

<comment not pointed at you personally>

Dog fighting brings about as much quality entertainment to the world as Rosie O'Donnell....

For some reason, no.

I have seen dogs fight, and broken them up (not staged pitbull fights, but backyard, random dog fights). I have never seen roosters fight. But I don't allow a chicken to sleep in my home and play with kids, either.

My response is so out there, I can't even edit it to make sense.

Maybe Miss Teen SC has rubbed off on me. :)

I was just going to pose the same question. I've been to many bullfights and quite enjoyed them, but could never go or endorse dog fighting. Chickens??
Dunno. I should be bothered because the animals are being forced/bred to fight to the death, but then again it's just a chicken. Loser goes in the pot.
I've never attended a cockfight, and doubt I would, but the actual combat doesn't seem quite so stomach turning as someone staging, training and killing dogs.

essentially you're saying, "But, dogs got personality, personality goes a long way."

Yep. A dog can show many emotions that people become comfortable with. Turning fido into a snarling, gnashing beast that would just as much kill you or wag it's tail isn't nice.

Betting on a dog's life isn't very appealing, imo.

Training an animal to fight another animal to the death for sport is wrong, no matter the species.

Buck Buchanan

I could type a long diatribe.

but its not worth it.

Well we'd have to be talkin' about one charmin' motherfxxxin' dog. I mean he'd have to be ten times more charmin' than that Rin Tin Tin on that cop show, you know what I'm sayin'?

No I got no idea what either of you are saying.
