I don't condone bull fighting or cock fighting either.

I admit I'm a hypocrite though—I eat a lot of beef, chicken & pork and it's not like those animals are living in luxury and being slaughtered painlessly.

I don't like the cock fights either, but as mentioned above, they somehow bother me a little less than dog fights.

forcing animals to fight has nothing to do with raising animals for consumption.

For some reason, no.

I have seen dogs fight, and broken them up (not staged pitbull fights, but backyard, random dog fights). I have never seen roosters fight. But I don't allow a chicken to sleep in my home and play with kids, either.

You do know they put spurs in the roosters feet before a fight right?

And as for Vic Why in sam hell would a multimillion dollar man spend his time doing that it aint gonna make him anymore money than football..............................I will stop here I do know the reson and do not wish to be confused with a racist :flipoff2:

Training an animal to fight another animal to the death for sport is wrong, no matter the species.

Buck Buchanan

In dog fighting they usually find a homeless or wandering timid in nature friendly dog that some kid uses as a pillow for saterday morning cartoons,

And throw it in with an abused and often beaten, thrown fire crackers at it, starved it, inbred mean tempered dog,

That then imidietly kills and something to the effect, trys to eat the lesser dog.

:flipoff2: I am NOT a racist but there is a name for people that do this sort of thing, OH yeah a prison b*tch

Actually, they're more like razors than spurs. Nasty business.

Sure, I tell myself that too. ;) j/k Obviously there is a difference, one is the "food chain" one is "blood sport."

BUT....they are all "innocent" animals breed, raised and killed for the "pleasure" of humans.

It's the blatant brutality of the dog fighting that "separates" it in my mind, but the final outcome is the same.

I do not agree with the fighting of animals for fun or profit..

Now my point.

How could you throw a beagle in the ring with a pit. Damn.
Beagles and pits have a great lineage as hunting dogs and mans companion. If you have ever hunted with a dog and watched it work the terrain and use its God given abilities you could never mistreat any dog in this way.

I agree with you. While my rational side believes Ron Mexico deserves due process, my emotional side believes he should be on the receiving end of a .50 BMG.

how about bear baiting? I have been to a bear baiting site in england.

I think I recall reading the Queen Elizabeth was really into bear baiting. Nasty business.

Anyone have a star at Pirate? There was a thread over there a year or so ago that had a video of a chick shooting a bear out of a tree, and then stripping down and getting plowed by some dude on the bear's carcass. It was the strangest fetish that I could imagine. But, different strokes for different folks, I guess.

This is just an observation it is in no way a condoning of said activities but.......

There are alot of side notes throughout history that lend themselves to this.

All are gladiator sports.

Kinda like the NFL today huh?
