Ok so I finally got around to installing a light bar yesterday on my Dissent Bumper. I tested it out last night and cannot believe how bright it is. Today, I am already looking for a new project, when does this addiction subside?

If you are like most of us, the simple answer is never. We are all obsessive vehicle types, that's why we're here. You'll get close to "done" and either get another cruiser or totally change the direction of the rig you have.

Oh yeah, there is no 12 step program, embrace the addiction

But you do get to the point where you start to take longer trips & really challenge your rig. It's a great feeling knowing you have a very capable vehicle that's ready for adventure at a moments notice!

I don't think it ever does - I started with what I always wanted, my '72 FJ40. Then I sold my pickup and bought my '03 Land Cruiser. Then we decided to get my wife a new vehicle so we got a Lexus GX460 (Land Cruiser Prado in the rest of the world).

I don't think I'll ever buy myself anything but an LC again. And I suspect I'll never get rid of any of the ones I have...

I guess I'm the exception to the rule..

I'm a declare NO CAR guy, I just don't like them (well did not like them before) but I few month back I suffer a fall (in the freaking snow after a million years of doing stupid stuff) that left me with two fusions on my spine, so I will never be able to ride a bicycle or a motorcycle and for sure my Skateboards (Best sport ever) so I have to Like cars, I just have no choice..

So I end up getting the vehicle I respect the most, do to the incredible reliability and capabilities (Some day I tell you the story but where I grow up "Narco Toyota's" reign supreme..

A big passion of mine since I was a little kiddo is to repurpose objects, so a got a worn out Land cruiser on Purpose, so I can hack it with out remorse, I show you guys some stuff soon)

So yes, I have the fever, I'm 54 but I only learn how to drive 6 years ago (but work on many cars before, mostly "Dark Special purpose" and race cars)

This is only my 3th car, a $1000 Range rover classic was first (that actually never fail on us) a unkillable H6 subaru Outback that I trust completely and now do to my spine restrictions a vehicle that let me be higher on the seat with out hitting the ceiling so I can operate the pedals without so much effort, plus help the kiddos with the car seat..

Man this new LC's are so much smoother than the older ones, they are actually a pleasure to ride..

It isn't an addiction, it's a way of life. I keep saying i will keep a vehicle stock but i fail every time. I even have a hard time leaving wifey's cars alone.

I would have to agree. its your lifestyle that drives your obsession. I love the outdoors and all it offers and i need to be around it. So I choose vehicles that afford me that opportunity whenever I feel like it being in nature.

I don't like the skepticism in this guys attitude. Living in Hawaii AND owning an LC?

What's it gonna take to make you, happy?
