I tried to wait for Bud, but he never released them, so when Jason (Trail Tailor) offered his skids again, I snapped a set up immediately. They're great, just like all of his stuff. My only wish is that they were stainless steel, because rust is a major issue in my area. Budbuilt typically offers a stainless version of protection (with a slight upcharge).

I also have Budbuit lower shock guards (Stainless) and the @turbo8 /E-E RLCA skid. They both work well and provide needed protection. Thanks to the RLCA skids I'm not bending stock RLCAs anymore.

The only thing to watch out for is that the RLCA skids collect silt and dirt, I think mine is from going through mud several feet deep in sections. One more thing to keep clean as maintenance.

But... I'd probably only add this stuff if you play in the rocks and ledges. It comes with the territory wheeling any of the more challenging trails in VT/NH. They got good exercise on talus/scree fields in Colorado too.
I called BudBuilt.....same answer. No production version and it's on the back burner. So, I just placed an order for the Trail Tailor version. I agree stainless would be cool, but at least no salt issues here in AZ. Thanks for the advice on the RLCA ski dirt issue. I do play on rocks and ledges at times, so def cheaper to armor up than have to replace arms

@DPA200 did you get the parts installed? How does it ride?
My truck is at the shop right now getting it all installed. I'm getting a few other things taken care of while its there, but hopefully end of this week or early next week I'll have it back. I'll post up pics and 1st impressions when i get it back. Here are a couple pics my tech sent today

Anybody else with MRR suspension have lower shock guards? It looks like my Trail Tailor guards would not work with the Reservoir mounting spot.
Luckily the shop noticed the issue before trying to drive like this:

Here is a screen grab from the Dobinsons instruction manual:

Watching closely for future needs.

make sure the rebound adjustment screw is facing inward, it is a pain to adjust when it is between the shock and wheel.

Edit - for the rears

Where is the rebound adjuster on the rear? I haven't actually seen in person yet, these pics are just from my shop

Slightly above the bottom mount. The shock guard might be covering it too

Ah, I see. Thanks for the pic, that makes sense now. Nice it's just a screw adjustment. My tough dog's had some plastic adjustment knob which is a bad spot to have a delicate piece of plastic protruding. I like how this is flush/recessed

@crikeymike my install shop has since removed the shock guards completely. Sounds like 1 more reason the guards wouldn't work with my new suspension

Got my truck back Friday and dropped it off at Discount Tire right after to get my new 34" Recon Grapplers. Haven't been on dirt, yet but just around town it feels like a V8 powered marshmallow. Massive change! So many creaks and shakes and rattles now just are no more. I'll update more when i get some miles on them but so far very happy. If anybody in AZ ever needs cruiser work done I can't say enough good things about Higgy's in Mesa. @Cruiserhiggs and his boys crushed it on the work!

What was on it before?

Any update on Quailty and Handling now that you have some miles on the MRR’s ??
So far great. Haven’t got to test off-road a ton yet, only a few weekend camping trips with not too much more than an average forest road.

Day/night difference around town driving though, makes my 08 feel like a much newer truck. I was really surprised how much of the prior noise and rattling completely went away. My previous Tough Dog suspension was very good for years, but in its defense I was way over weight by the end of my build, so a lot of the poor performance was from that.

Only thing I need to familiarize myself more with on the MRR is the adjustments. I just left with what they installed with. I do notice when I go over speed bumps there are a couple of residual bounces after. Would that be low speed compression being set to low?

Enjoyed the post, I think I bought my Tough Dog suspension near the same time you did. I've had no complaints with it but its getting tired from years of abuse loaded down offroad trips, frequent towing and additional weight it carries and I've been searching for next replacement as well. Your rig looks great and glad to hear your enjoying the new setup

Nice, yeah I'd still recommend Tough Dog it held up great for years. My 1st quest was just to upgrade the front from a 41 to a 45, but that';s when I found out Jason can't get the anymore. So, figured that was a good excuse to upgrade everything. I've added a lotta weight since that initial lift. So off-road performance important to me, but man what a difference it made in my general enjoyment of the truck for the other 99% of the time Im driving pavement on DD duty. I did consider all the other options and the MRR def seamed like the best bang for my buck. Anyways, thx. Great looking color with the black accents on your 200.
