2003 with c. 260K miles. I have a click/twang when turning hard left from a slow start. Sounds like wheel bearing but noise seems to be coming from wishbone ball joints. Now I know the steering rack is original and has considerable wear but when I had an alignment yesterday the shop said I needed both sway bar links replaced. Does this sound reasonable?

Cheers,

The rubber bushings were shot in my 05, and it has half the milage yours does. I'd vote yes.

IF you mean the bushings that hold the rack I have done them. They are saying I need sway bar links. Is that what you are saying I need?

Rubber pillow mounts on the end links on mine were shot. And, even here in AZ the metal drop links themselves were not in great shape. I replaced the pillow mounts, but if I had it to do all over again, I would just replace the whole drop link.

There is one per corner (this is the front passenger). The pillow mounts are the donuts the top arrow is pointing to. I would replace the whole thing.
