The past few days my Chocolate Lab on 2 separate occasions has choked on what I think must be hair balls? Her tounge coils up, and extends out where I can see the back of it, but nothing has come out yet. She then acts normal. Any of your dogs ever choke on a hairball?

She was likely chewing sticks or something and got a sliver stuck in her throat. They don't lick themselves clean like cats, so they shouldn't get "hairballs".

She looks like she's going to pass out when she does it, and she definitely is trying to get something out of her throat. She does chew sticks, metal, plastic, shoes, and whatever else she can.

My older pound dogs had heart worms and they choke like that!? Nothing you can do after they have them!
