I do this all the time. My finicky dogs are no longer finicky. Recipe is 50% meat chicken/chicken livers/gizzards 25% grain I use rice and oats 25% veggies/fruit. Sometimes I use 25% beef/25% chicken always some organ meat.
This time I used the food processor and shredded the veggies and added them raw. Like the better distribution.
