So I'm after kings shocks (overkill I know) for my FJ45 Troopy but don't want to cut off the stock mounts. Does anyone know if the eyelets on the kings shocks will fit on the OEM shock mounts? I know there's a pair of fox shocks that will fit but can't find anyone running kings on an oem rig?

Cheers in advance all!

I may join you on this hunt.

I just installed Dobinson suspension on my FJ45. I ended up pulling the 3rd leaf and the overload sprigs along with 4plus products flip kit. All that jazz significantly shortened my shock length.

I need something that will work with 525-385mm

IMS59-50649 614-409mm - Standard Rear Dobinson IMS shock.
IMS59-50635 488-324mm - Front shock and also next length down.

Seems like the rear Dobinsons shock would work with a slightly extended bumpstop?

This is like saying I want to buy a Porsche, but only to drive it in a straight line and under 50mph.

Square away your leaf spring setup and shackle lengths/angles, figure out approximate shock travel needs based on this setup, then make your mounts work (modify them) to suit your shock of choice. Different shocks have different extended and collapsed lengths for the same travel based on differing design variables.

Common sense prevailing….

I am going to find out if I can cut 50mm out of the rear IMS shocks. Seems like I should be able to cut and rethread the barrel and cylinder? I have experience doing this with hydraulic cylinders.

Don't see any reason you can't. You've got the means, just need the motivation and/or time.

Raise the upper mount on the rear shock. Way easier.
