DIY: Replacing heater hose pipe T's *important* (9 Viewers)

I haven’t done the job yet because I’m waiting on the hoses to come in the mail, but here’s what I have settled on.
1.) Pex brass tee of the 3/4,3/4,1/2 variety for $2.99. Part number appears to be PX80750XR1. The SKU is 039923356512.
2.) oem hoses from lexuspartsnow.com (if I hadn’t already ordered those I would have gone with the gates hoses mentioned throughout this thread.). I got the part numbers from earlier posts.
3.) constant tension hose clamps. This thread has links to them on amazon for $27 plus $5 shipping for a pack of ten. Twelve clamps are required for this job... I called my local fastenal dealer and he was able to get me the same clamps for $10 per pack of ten and no shipping charge to pick up in store. Fastenal part number is 0427719
I will try to post pictures of the parts ordered but I’ve never posted pictures so we’ll see how it goes. Thanks again for all y’alls help through the process.

Oh and I forgot to mention that on page one of this thread, @hankinid posted a link to an 80 series thread discussing a conpany called JTR that makes metal fittings. I emailed that company and the guy actually called me back a couple hours later on a Sunday evening to clarify my need. He said he does make the part in 5/8,5/8,1/2 and it is in fact made of aluminum. His price is $24 each plus $10 shipping. That was a little too much for me when I feel the brass will be just as good for a fraction of the price.

The 4 Seasons is definitely steel with a "zinc" type coating. It definitely clings to a magnet. Would be curious to see long term test results for those using.
I emailed Valvoline regarding Zerex Asian Red in my 03 LX470 and compatibility with the steel T’s and this was their response:

Did anyone order the clamps that go at the tubes at the firewall? Parts diagram lists 9613652101, but Partsouq sent the ones shown below. They barely fit over the hose and look different from the original. I've been pleased with Partsouq in the past, but I wonder if this is the wrong part.
That’s probably the size that goes to the engine. The two down tubes from both T’s had smaller clips. Maybe try putting it there and see if it fits that better. In the parts diagram it showed the clips to be the same size, but they are clearly not the same.
Thanks, but they definitely go on the ends of the 'side' hoses. I have the other clamps also and know what you mean about the smaller diameter on the downward hose. I think either they're picturing and stocking the wrong part, maybe not even by Toyota, or the diagram is wrong and 96134-42100 should be used there as well. See below.
96136-52101 is shown to be used at the end of each 'side' hose. The difference wouldn't necessarily surprise me since the size and materials they are clamping are different than the T, but they really don't seem to fit well.
Did everyone else use 8x 96134-42100 instead of 4x 96134-42100 and 4x 96136-52101?

Well i’ll be. That diagram is more detailed then the others posted prior. The others show a clip labeled 93136-52101 and no other part numbers for any clips which leaves you to believe they are all the same size clip even though we know better once we start pulling clips. Since I ordered the constant tension worm drive clamps I have no info to share on the factory style clips.
With that many choices of clamps surely one would fit the steel T's perfectly.

I had my mechanic replace my Heater Tees and hoses. 2004 Land Cruiser with 90k miles. Just in case it may help someone else-- the Tees were not in terrible condition. There were some pink stains from the coolant weeping out. I am glad I had this done for peace of mind-- but I suspect they would have been fine for many more miles. I used Toyota EOM Tees and hoses-- figure if they lasted 15 years-- they will be good for another 15 years.
Does anyone have the part number for the 4seaons stainless t? Or other brand stainless ones?
If you would like to go brass like I did, go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and the pex T’s are $3.99. I posted a picture a couple posts up on page 26. The one pictured is a 3/4,3/4,1/2 but in the end the 1/2 didn’t fit well on the bottom hose so I ended up swapping it for 3/4 all the way around. The 3/4 on the bottom is a little tight, but that’s better than loose obviously. I probably could have gotten it on there with some elbow grease but I just used my heat gun to warm the hose end up and it slipped on pretty easily.

You pretty much nailed it. If steel and brass will have the same performance then why pay more? Now if brass corroded and steel didn’t then I would pay the extra for peace of mind. Keep in mind that bottom hose is meant for a 5/8 if I remember right and the steel one is 1/2. When I put the hose on the 1/2 brass part it was way too loose for comfort. The 3/4 that I ended up with was much more confidence inspiring. I was using factory hoses though, so if you are using the gates hoses that may fit 1/2 better than the Toyota hoses then more power to you. I wish I could give you a long term report on the brass but obviously I just put it on a few weeks ago. Maybe someone else can chime in that went brass a few years ago.
