No, it doesn't. It looks like you're a big fat poser riding around town on pavement with a pair of shackles hanging off your front bumper than for no other reason to look cool.

The 100 series is cool. You don't have to try hard to look the part. :)

I get it, the new cool is to admonish other people when they put stuff on their truck one does not approve of because the stuff is not cool in one's opinion, is that it? Cool!

There isn't a whole lot of tech with this post, but maybe useful for someone.

I made a ghetto bracket to hold my front license plate using an old license plate, a $2 rubber plate holder and a couple tools. Works pretty well, though I need to straighten it out a smidge.

(Yeah, I painted my fairlead and bracket to match other blue accents. can't see it when the plate is on.)

To use the winch, I figure I'll just take off the front plate.

More tech than some of the previous:)

No big deal unless it's chrome:cool:

Noone is admonishing, he was just trying to help a fellow owner out! @bluecruise is the Vince Vaughn of the 100-series message boards:

SERIOUS TECH CONTENT: Is the shackle holder large enough to clip a hook into it? i.e. will the standard warn hook that came on the end of my synthetic line clip in?

did you install that trailer hitch on the front or did Ben do that? Care to show some pics underneath on how you welded it all in?

^^^Ben integrated the front hitch as a custom option. It looks like it will get the job done nicely. (Front, back, with hitch) I don't have the lowest profile fairlead. This one just barely clears the hitch.

The loops that hold the D-rings are too thick to clamp the Warn winch hook I have. The hook can getnon, but I wouldn't count on it staying there without some tension.

Thanks for the pics. that hook should not be used like that anyways. You need a shackles mounted through the hole and the hook loops onto the shackle.

It is nice to just hook the hook on like he has pictured when you are just driving around. It would be better if it fit properly, then you wouldn't have to have any tension on the rope, but you can wind the winch in just enough to have enough tension to keep the hook in place. I went with a Viking thimble on my ARB bumper because it doesn't have front attachment points, but in practical use I would prefer to have just kept and used the Warn hook.

Obviously you want to use a shackle and make sure the hook is fully "engaged" when actually using the winch.

I went with the factory55 flat link. Your winch line should not be exposed like that. In time the elements will make the rope brittle and cause a week spot. Also it will be vulnerable to getting cut if you hit a rock just right

this will except a standard 3/4" shackle.

Okay, I'm guilty too... I kidded about it... then looked back at some old pics. Fully deployed. I kept two on for a while - had the cable on one. Not ideal. You know how it is with the remote - you bump the In button and that cable goes in too much or not enough. Always luck of the draw whether the cable was too tight - pulling the D-ring sideways - or too loose and rattling. I like the flat link Ben.

Just ordered 50 of these in various sizes and colors (black, gray, navy, army green. ) hopefully some of you want shirts:)
Unfortunately I do have to charge at least the cost of the shirt. They will be $10+ shipping. Pm me with the size and color you would like and I'll let you know if I have it. They will take about 1-2 weeks to get to me.

Medium gray

Stuff a large gray one and a large black one in with my bumper - add that $20 to the total. Looks great Ben!

I might buy an addition from you (stinger) once I get the DIY kit all welded up. I will buy a shirt at that time.
