I still like Dissent. It's your business, it's got to mean something to you and is good if it communicated thst to your customers, or at least is memorable and searchable.

The raised fist is an old symbol. Much older than the black panthers and the 'panthers weren't the last to use it.

30 units already. We'll don't man. All that work engineering the bumper for production is paying off.

After having a few bumpers powder coated and not being happy with the results I have decided to get them primed with a zinc enriched primer first. This will be an additional $75.

Makes sense to me.
 
How does the zinc primer affect the p coat, bonding? Finish?
 
I was able to pick up my Dissent Off-Road bumper from my buddy, Nickko, at Zollwerks in Hillsboro. He sandblasted and powder coated the bumper in Cardnal 20% gloss powder. I got it home and TonsOFun helped me wire in the LEDs and get it installed. I am so happy with how it turned out!

The LED's are wired to my factory fog light wiring. I just used a multi-meter to figure out which wire was positive and which was negative, cut the OEM connector off and wired in a Delphi connector for the LEDs. I am also planning on running an LED bar between the stinger, but that may be a while... I really need to focus on my 40!

Lots of shiny pictures and enthusiasm here and I love it but I still want to see it take weight and winching loads, until then I'm still more interested in everybody's take offs.

Lets see a high-lift under a wing, lets see some serious winch load and how the mounts hold up, we need to compare and contrast performance against the other market offerings, not appearance (ok, some of us need appearance, I want beef).

I really like the look but I need to see the function, now that guys are getting them into the field can we see them working guys?! Go get hung up and do some recoveries and let's see what happens!

My stock front is beat to hell and won't be around much longer so I'm in the market. It's good to see the 100 getting some fresh aftermarket attention for sure and I know of another well know LC bumper shop working on a 100 front now also.

I have said it before and will say it again. If your looking for something that's 150lbs of beef than you will need to look els where.
I have had plenty of 150lbs bumpers and did not want another. Also I wold not recommend high-lifting from the wings. Very unstable! You are much better off going off the sliders or using the tow points with the shackles.
The goal with this bumper was to get away from the heavy bulky stereo type. I wanted something strong light weight and high clearance and it had to look good:) I know only time will tell but I am a 100% confident in the structural integrity of this bumper!
 
Pretty sure NO bumper manufacturer - ARB, Slee included - would recommend hi-lifting at the end of the bumper/wing. In fact, pretty much ever bumper - even the big fat ones - are tapered, making it impossible or at least dangerous to try.

ARB has their high-lift mount point well inside - near the frame horns. And Slee's is nothing but angled steel outside of the center section - no way you're getting a hi-lift anywhere near there.
 
Gotcha, to be clear i wouldn't jack fom a wing either but was more interested in an example of what a rock would do in that location. I understand the 100 series frame configuration makes it difficult to keep aftermarket bumpers from moving under winch loads and thats where I was coming from. In an early post you mentioned adding more body clearance for similar reasons. With recovery points high relative to the frame attachment there is a rotational force that tends to kick up the wing tips.

I like it and I'm staying tuned for action shots and field reviews, sounds like we'll have a lot of both soon!

The front body mounts do allow a lot of movement on the 100 series along with most newer vehicles, that being said, the force and movement all depend on winch placement. This is one of the reasons I went with feet down and not feet forward.
Much less leverage on the mounting brackets. You will notice how low the winch sets to the frame horns.

Also on the frame brackets you will notice the side plates extend past the bottom of the frame about 1/2". This will help tremendously with load and force transfer!

I did a quick winch test on mine with a 12k winch. I blocked all 4 tires and and maxed a 12k winch out, no movement at all. This was on a straight pull mind you but a straight pull will tell you a lot about a winch bumper. If the is no movement on a straight pull this means the winch is in a good spot. If the bumper moves or twists on a straight pull the winch is too high. I have never had to re align one of my bumpers after a heavy pull.

Great stuff, Thanks! I do appreciate the winch placement being low and inline and if you've maxed it without movement on a straight pull that is a very good data point. I have also noticed the well placed bracing inside of the wings, strong and light don't have to be exclusive, good design can provide both.

My pleasure. Unfortunately I do not see very many winch action shots in the future. It's hard to get these things stuck:)
