So it is going to cost a lot more than I had anticipated to get this going! I was originally going to do 5 and changed that to 10. Right now I have 5 guys that have committed and sent me there info. I will need to get the full 10 to make this happen at the prices discussed. I would like to get going on the new prototype after Christmas, I know this is a busy time of year for everyone but if you are interested please email me. I do have a 06 landcruiser lined up to test the prototype on and still waiting on an lx. The next step after getting the 10 commitments, is to get the new prototype built and onto CAD. I will keep you guys updated on the progress of the new bumper. Again, I need 10 people that are willing to commit and put down a $150 deposit. Right now I have 5. The only reason I'm asking for a deposit, is it is going to cost me a lot of money to get these built and before I do I need to be 100% sure they are sold. Thanks again, (email) bencalhoon86@gmail.com

I sent an email out to Benc last week and he responded that he is sitting at about 8-12 weeks on the bumpers. He has a good back order of them and will be prepping for, and going to 100's in the hills which will take up some production time.

My only hold up with the front is I love the bull bars on the Land Cruiser but I just hate the bull bars for the LX. I know the issue is the hood and grill but dang it makes me almost want to buy the Toyota just so I can have your bumper.

I think hate is too strong a word, but I agree, my preference for the LC bullbars is my main hold up on purchasing Ben's amazing bumper. That and money (mainly the money).

Has anybody tried the LC bullbars and modifying the hood grill (a la @diego355 ) to give a little more clearance?

Great work Ben

So where did yall hide your winch control box? and do you have any suggestions as it relates to the winch process. I installed the bumper and then the winch came in the mail.

Interested if anyone has successfully installed LC bull bars on an LX as well.

Did you get your winch installed? My control box is installed were the AHC reservoir was.

Anybody know what maximum length light bar you can install in this spot on the bumper (in the center of the LX full bull bar)?

If I am ordering the full bull bar with the front bumper for my LX, do you recommend the full steel bumper to go with the bullbar?

I figured on the steel/aluminum hybrid version. the aluminum wings might not be as strong of a mounting point for the bullbar or am I completely wrong here?

The bull bare will actually help stiffen up the aluminum wings. That being said the steel will be considerably stronger.

Quoting the very first page of this thread:

“It will except any 8k-12k non integrated foot down winch, (some will require remote mounting of the control box)”

So does this bumper not need an additional winch mount? The winch mounts to the bumper somewhere inside? I’m looking to get the Warn Zeon 12S or possibly 10S

The winch mounts inside the center section

Several thoughts on this so far. I got my bumper installed over the last couple of weekends. I absolutely could not fit a Smittybuilt x20 10k winch control box on the stock mounting position on the winch inside the bumper. I had to remove the control box mounting brackets and then "mount" it off to the side, but still inside the bumper by zip tying it to of the vertical interior reinforcement pieces. Not happy with the mounting configuration because currently I can only use the wireless function of the remote, but it's the best I could do.

Second, I purchased 3x3 LED fog lights to go into the bumper and because of the angle of the wings, the fog lights are essentially useless. Is there some way to aim these things better? Right now they just light up the trees WAY off the side of the road.

Lastly, the clearance on my front bumper is not as tight as I thought it would be to the frame, and I'm not sure there is any way to improve it. I don't want the front of the bumper to tilt up because the clearance would be less at the grill and more at the fender. I don't want it to shift down because it will make the gap worse. What it needs to do is shift straight UP all across the bumper from wing to wing, because the gap at the front is big enjoy where you can see old metal below the grill and headlights. But there isn't any way I cash see to do that because of the way the bumper mounts to the frame.
