Differential drain plug crush washer orientation (1 Viewer)

Does it matter which way the crush washer/gasket goes on? One side is flat the other is what gets crushed.

I’d put the flat side against the plug. Is that right? I’m sure I’ve pondered this before but I don’t recall what I did.

I like the orientation you selected, but I don't think there is a "wrong way"

I just did mine and I can tell you they come from factory facing out towards the bolt head the way you’re holding it.

Yeah. I couldn’t tell on the drain but on the fill I could see how it was done. Flat on the bolt.

Alwyas done it as OP on both LX and Subaru. Never a problem.
