Hey guys, my dad recently got a 2017 VDJ200 and sold to me his old 2011. We both noticed that the brakes on the 2017 were way stronger. Anyone know what changed? My dad also upgraded the wheels so I decided to borrow his stock wheels since mine had 17s. I noticed that the center caps on the 2016 18" wheels won't fit on the 2011. I had to trim off some material in order for them to fit. Anyone else notice this?

Pop the metal cap off the hub. When I purchased my 2013 last year it came with 2016 wheels. While putting on new tires I noticed the metal cap on the hubs had been removed. Must be why the wheels fit.

2016 they replaced the brakes with Tundra brakes, which are bigger than F-250/350 brakes IIRC

I just discovered this last weekend. Thanks for the pics. Service advisor at the dealer spent about 30 minutes trying to find a center cap that would work. They finally gave up and said "We don't have any caps that will fit because your Land Cruiser is the 4 wheel drive version." I'm searching for a new advisor.

Yup, 2016+ got new brake calipers. And new hubs and suspension uprights.

So those of us looking to retrofit the new goodies, it's not a simple operation.

Old thread, but did you trim all 4 tabs on the 2 front caps?

The brakes are larger on the 2016+. take the metal center cap off and spray with fluid film for rust prevention or trim the center cap of the 2016+ wheel. I have them on my 2013.

Cool, where can I get a 4 wheel drive version?
I couldn't resist, sorry
