I am not going to say it is "easy" to stuff a 3B into a 1974 chassis. Unless you can source a solid/good parking brake style pre 1981 transmission 4sp it will get harder. Split case transmissions 1981 and later like 'gimme a 60' used do not commonly have parking brake provisions. So what is solution? Frame crossover tube may also cause a conflict.
The 3B is short and it might be possible to move the engine system forward giving a better rear driveline length but a 5 speed (H55) yields a 18/19" rear driveline in F series installs.
Then you have airbox, vacuum, PS, wire systems and alternator. Don't try to use original 40 series parts as most are long out of production.

Again, not easy like a 60/70 series that were always set up for 5 speed installs.
