Hey gang one of the diff studs on my front axle needs the threads cleaned up.

I can't seem to get the stud out to just replace it, tried the drift and everything.

I want to run a die over it to fix it, but I don't know what size. The studs are definatly 10mm, but I don't know what the other number is(not real familiar with taps and dies).

The local store has a choice of 10mm - 1.25 and 10mm - 1.5

Will one of these work, or do I need something else?

Thanks

Most of the stuff on a cruiser is 1.25.
You can buy a thread pitch (the second number) guide most anywhere that sells taps and dies, it will tell you what the second number is, very useful.
If it looks "normal" its probably 1.25, if it looks "fine" its probably 1.00, and if it looks "coarse" its probably 1.5.

Thanks, Crusin!
