Birthday ride: the bike's, not mine.

It's 10 years old. The bottle caps change, but the grin on my face when my feet hit its pedals has never. And the places we've gone together . . .

Niner's CVA suspension is still imo the best

Another rider here (contrary to my user name which is my standard forum one and dates back to when I spent my time in white water kayak and canoe), now mainly riding gravel or fireroad (which ends up being mountain bike country here), but do ride road as well.

Went out this morning and did a 60km(ish) ride in very ordinary weather, and now sitting at home with the dogs, the fire and Mud to read.

About 40km of dirt on here, and some of it was fantastic condition freshly graded tar road smooth fast rolling dirt... Just a shame it came in at 40km and I was not at the pace to enjoy it having fought headwinds to get there!

And now I've got the camera hooked up to the computer, here's a pic from today showing the type of road we get:

It was at this point I was able to put sunglasses on, having been riding in the rain with clears on so far.

A 4 day trip and got out 3 of them.
First day a bit of a warm up. Nice flow along a stream. Cool and wet.

Day 2. Had the wife drop me off up top and rode a sweet downhill back to camp.

3rd day was a big one. Super fun with a little pavement in the middle. Felt a bit out of place there.
