Did the brake upgrade

With rubber hoses some of the braking pressure is wasted expanding the hoses. SS braid helps reduce ballooning.

It will decrease initial pedal travel slightly and may reduce total pedal travel to lock up slightly making the brakes feel firmer. But it won’t decrease general stopping distances.

In general most people actually think better brakes are softer, longer travel brake pedals.

So a smaller master cylinder or a larger caliper or wheel cylinder will require more master cylinder travel, making the brake require less force from the driver, and it feels like the brakes are working very well with little effort. But it’s just a motion ratio change.

Why would that improve braking? If the hoses are shot, then they are shot. But AFAIK, stainless offer no better braking than stock rubber.
They don't by a whole lot, but they vastly improve pedal feel because there is zero flex when pressurized as compared to rubber hoses.

I've had success with the 4runner calipers and 60 rotors using the stock hj61 MS; especially noticeable on longer downhill roads after a day of jungle wheeling. 4runner pistons are larger than the LC caliper pistons.

You used 4 Runner rotors? On the LC hub? Sized for a 16" wheel?
