Did I mess up this core?

I remember trying to straighten the fins on one of my heater cores with a tool much too short for the job (don't remember what it was), but I DO remember the worst. papercut. EVER. clear across the face of my thumb trying to get things straightened out. Looked like I'd beaten someone to death with the heater core before I got the bleeded contained. Blech! Good times! :crybaby:

Yee Haw - Core be good

Tested my core using the air pressure and wine cork method. Tested good! I will post pics, but am off to a movie....my life has been cruiser work cruiser....not that that is a bad thing. And, I do have a regulator on my air compressor:doh:...I don't use it very often. The last extensive use was 4 years ago at which time I set it to the pressure of my nailer (around 80 lbs) and forgot about it.

I will post pics of the "tank" I use to test it (you probably have one) in the next day or two. Thanks again for all the help. It saved me a trip and some money, and gives me confidence to reinstall the heater and enjoy heat for the Minnesota winter.

Pics and tank

My tank for testing the core was a used ice chest. Fit perfect.
Used the same ice chest to drain the radiator and it held exactly what the radiator would give it (F engine in 78).
I modified the cork to fit by grinding it down. It did pop a few times - red wine.
