Did I just ruin my height sensor? (2 Viewers)

I was looking to do some preventative maintenance and replace my front height sensors but I accidentally dropped my new sensor and broke that plastic tab that sits below the "L". I haven't tried to take off the old ones yet but looking at the rust, I'm gonna order some new mounting brackets before I try (any know part number?). If I can remove the old plastic pin from the old sensor, I may be able to just swap it on to the new one.

Any tips or advice?

You talking about the rusted arm on the old sensor? Or that bracket that I'm asking if anyone knows a part number for? I'm replacing the sensor and I want to replace that mounting bracket.

If you can find the missing piece, I would try to plastic weld/epoxy the tab back together.

I did find it, but I think epoxy is gonna be my last resort.

The tab that broke off is temporary. It’s the Neutral position on the sensor.

Here is one of my old posts explaining the purpose of the plastic tab and temporary plastic pin on a new Height Control Sensor.

The short as answer is "don't worry about it!".

I suppose taking to Dealership is and option. But if you want to give another shot, at removing the stuck globe today. Harbor Freight has a forged open end wrench set. I use the 36mm form the kit. It's a very tight fit, so I tap wrench onto the globes nut for a very secure fit. Than for added...

As others have noted, the rusty connecting parts will have to be cleaned up or replaced, especially the attaching tab at the Upper Control Arm and the Sensor arm.

If reliability and longevity are important, use only OEM Toyota/Lexus Height Control Sensors (or the AISIN equivalents supplied to Toyota/Lexus).

Oh yeah those break line fittings would freak you out. They'll eventually get replaced as well. I live in salt belt area.

If you are looking for the mounting bracket to which the Height Control Sensor arm is attached, then that bracket is welded on the Upper Control Arm (UCA) when manufactured. It is not a separate part.

UCA Part Numbers: 48610-0030 (RH) and 48630-60010 (LH)

The nearby visible drllled and threaded hole is the attaching point for a separate clamp. This clamp is not part of the Height Control Sensor arm attaching point. It is the clamp for the ABS Speed Sensor wiring (where fitted).
